Wandering in Leica land: upcoming gigs

I plan to come along with my Leica and somewhat special you will not see that often: a big, bad, and handsome lens - the Elmarit 135mm f2.8. It is sharp, and surprisingly, it does not a hefty number on its price tag.

The story behind it:
I have found myself purchasing a mint copy, first version, Elmarit-M 135mm f/2.8.  Despite of the "Leica Guru's statements" on the world wide web, there was no room for trepidation. In fact, there was a 14-day-return policy. Plenty of time to play in traffic.

Pros:
Balance that works fine with the M4 and the image quality left no space for complains - plus  it obscures the significant shape of every Leica M camera. Some spectators pass by and ask: "Is this a Kiev camera?" - never seen a Kiev with goggles.
Built in lens hood.

Cons:
These clumsy, non-removable, goggles can be a problem when it comes to transportation matters.
Some say the weight is an issue. Hmm, the weight for a f2.8? Acceptable.
It is not the fastest lens for focussing. Leica says some versions are not recommendable for M8's and M9's.

My humble plan is to take several shots of musicians with the 135mm pretty soon.

Wow, I need to learn more about this lens.

Can you post the images soon?
Thanks,
Peter

This beast, the 135mm?
You are bad-ass, nonetheless, you shoot with old school cameras, so what should I expect from you?

Wait for more...

Bye,
